Cheshire Constabulary have created a new initiative to improve our communities and give everyone a chance to play their part. From sports in our schools to safety on our roads, the waste on our streets to the health and well-being of our neighbours. What can you do? As much as you want or feel like. It's about the little things that help make your community a more pleasant place to live.

Neighbourhood Policing

Chief Constable's Message  |    Chairman's Message  |   Residents  |   Everyone

Neighbourhood PolicingNeighbourhood Policing is about working together to make your community a safer place for everyone.

Teams of Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), Special Constables, local authority wardens, volunteers and partners work together with communities to identify and tackle issues of concern and reduce fear of crime. Cheshire Constabulary’s aim is to deliver the right people, in the right places and in the right numbers, in order to create neighbourhoods that are safe and feel safe. Within Cheshire, neighbourhood policing revolves around Neighbourhood Policing Units. There are 18 Neighbourhood Policing Units within the force area; an Inspector heads up the unit and his team consists of sergeants, police constables, police community support officers and special constables. The neighbourhood policing team will work with local partners and you to make your community a safer place.

We do this by:

  • Holding Community Action Meetings to involve you in identifying local priorities and taking action to tackle them
  • Problem solving to provide long term solutions to reduce crime, nuisance and disorder
  • Keeping people informed of the action we are taking to reassure members of the community and reduce fear of crime
  • Being accessible and available to members of the community
  • Using community intelligence to dect more crime
  • Creating safer and more confident communities

Community Policing - together we are safer.
