Cheshire Constabulary have created a new initiative to improve our communities and give everyone a chance to play their part. From sports in our schools to safety on our roads, the waste on our streets to the health and well-being of our neighbours. What can you do? As much as you want or feel like. It's about the little things that help make your community a more pleasant place to live.

What is Alcohol-Related Crime?
Alcohol-related crime is any crime committed by someone whose actions are influenced by alcohol, or who breaks licensing laws. This includes selling alcohol to underage children, violence or public disorder fuelled by drink, drink driving, and many of the domestic abuse incidents that the police have to deal with.
Many people enjoy a few drinks with family and friends at home, or in pubs and restaurants, in ways that do not cause disruption to others. BUT some people who drink to excess by binge-drinking or getting drunk can cause anti-social behaviour, become aggressive or violent.
This behaviour is very visible and, in some communities, it deters people from going out at night - giving the impression that the "streets or town centres are not safe after dark". Cheshire Police recognises the scale of the problem and understands how drunken behaviour undermines public confidence and adds to the fear of crime. Through the Unity programme and other initiatives we are working hard to tackle alcohol-related crime in licensed premises and off licenses, the streets and in the home so that people are safe and feel safe.
