Cheshire Constabulary have created a new initiative to improve our communities and give everyone a chance to play their part. From sports in our schools to safety on our roads, the waste on our streets to the health and well-being of our neighbours. What can you do? As much as you want or feel like. It's about the little things that help make your community a more pleasant place to live.
Cheshire Constabulary's aim is to make sure that the people of Cheshire, Halton and Warrington are safe and feel safe.
We tackle everything from criminal damage to gun crime, from road collisions to terrorism – and we are extremely proud of the work that we do. Last year crime in Cheshire fell by 7% compared with 4% across the North West and this year so far crime is down a further 12%.
We know that you expect to receive the same level of service from the police as you do in other aspects of life. You want calls to be answered quickly; a fast response to incidents; to be kept updated; and to be supported at court when offenders are dealt with. We want to give you this and more but we need your help and by working together we can make a difference.
The Police Authority monitors the crime figures and the work of the Constabulary and is pleased that crime and disorder continues to fall, successfully bringing offenders to justice, there are less victims of crime, and Cheshire is a safer place to work and live but criminal activity continues to cause us concern as even one crime is one crime too many. We need your help and support to really make a difference in your community, we rely on you to provide information about what is happening in your area and we need you to stand with us in taking action.
Each one of us needs to lead by example, every community should make it clear to members of that community what is expected of them. When we collectively take responsibility for the environment we live in, set standards that relate to behaviour, for ourselves, our relatives, our friends and are aware of what is acceptable to others, can we really begin to make a difference in each and every community.
